Talhan Training and Fitness
At Talhan Training and Fitness, we aim to mentor kids to a better life. Our personal experiences have taught us that health and fitness is not a priority for youth in today’s world. With this in mind, our vision became clear.
As the world around us is ever so changing, the youth have been deprived of the experiences necessary to gain crucial skills that will help them throughout their lives. We strive to instill fundamental skills in children that go far beyond what they will use in the gym.
Leadership, communication, organization, team building, individual problem solving, and the ability to give and receive feedback are skills that kids will be able to take out into the real world and apply to real world problems.
The relationships that we facilitate are centered around physical education with an emphasis on building character and learning valuable life lessons. We take great care in ensuring that everyone has a positive experience and that the things they learn with us, will take them far beyond being physically fit. Gurveer and Rajveer have aimed all of their efforts in solving three crucial problems:
- 1. Children are moving less than they used to
- 2. To teach youth the importance of physical education
- 3. An over-emphasis on early sports specialization
Join us in making a difference; and relaying the importance that health and fitness truly has on the youth. Let’s work together to Increase the quality of life through movement.
MEET THE TEAM
Gurveer talhan
Gurveer fell in love with the sport of wrestling in the sixth grade. He excelled at an early age and triumphed to earn multiple national and provincial championships.
….“It was the individual aspect of the sport that I loved. It taught me the skills I needed to progress in life and helped me grow into a well-rounded person”….
Through an active and healthy lifestyle, Gurveer stayed disciplined and was able to attain a scholarship to wrestle at Douglas College in 2004/05. He attended for one year, at which point he made a move to the University of Concordia in Montreal. While competing in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) league, Gurveer also wrestled for the Montreal Wrestling Club.
Through these years, Gurveer was able to gain valuable life lessons which have provided him real insight into the effects of physical education in youth. Gurveer became and strength and conditioning coach and worked as a personal trainer for the last 10 years. He aims to develop the youth and set them on the right foot to live a prosperous life.

RAJVEER TALHAN
Rajveer has been a part of the wrestling industry for over 15 years. He has accrued a multitude of skills that have allowed him to diversify his talents. Rajveer places an emphasis on giving back to the community through developing youth.
As a strength and conditioning coach since January of 2005, Rajveer has taught to the importance of sports nutrition, athletic performance, wrestling, team management, corrective conditioning, exercise physiology, and athlete development.
After attending Concordia University and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Human Science, Rajveer moved back to British Columbia and began working in youth and community outreach. It was the skills he learned through a lifestyle focused on health and fitness that makes him a believer in the importance of giving back to the youth.
As Rajveers experiences diversified, it became evident to him that the opportunity for children to be active must be provided the right way. The importance of creating a positive environment for kids to show up, work hard and have fun is something that hits home for him.
….“I mentor kids with the goal of preparing them for life. Physical education and health deserves to be a top priority and I strive to teach it the right way”….
